GUC & Philanthropy

Strategic Philanthropy with Legal Integrity: OWP ALLIANCE
We doN’t donate for optics, We structure for impact

Governance-Led Engagement

At Gorilla Unit Consulting, philanthropy isn’t a marketing add-on. It is embedded into our governance model, our operational strategy, and our regional presence. Through a binding alliance with Our World Philanthropy (OWP)—a Pacific-based humanitarian organisation—GUC engages in purpose-driven capital allocation and post-crisis recovery initiatives across Vanuatu and the wider Indo-Pacific.

Philanthropy at GUC is governed by the same legal and strategic discipline we apply to every advisory function.

Operation under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)

Adoption of voluntary adherence to the ASX Corporate Governance Principles. Directors act not only in good faith—but with precision.

aligned with GORILLA UNIT’s core duties

Every philanthropic initiative is aligned with GUC’s core duties: reputational resilience, stakeholder value, and regional risk mitigation.

How We Partner With OWP

GUC and OWP operate under a legally binding Memorandum of Understanding, which outlines:

For regional health and disaster resilience.

Mobile clinics, hospital upgrades, chronic disease programs, and trauma counselling, daily feeding programs and the establishment of regional animal sanctuaries.

On transparency, force majeure, and reporting standards.

Designed to withstand audit scrutiny and operational risk.

The MoU is structured under legal precedent (Masters v Cameron, 1954) to be enforceable, precise, and principled.

Financial Architecture & Stewardship

Our philanthropic funding is governed with the same level of control as any core GUC capital stream.

Funds are designated to specific humanitarian pillars under internal allocation protocols
We apply principles drawn from charitable trust law and escrow-style oversight
Disbursements are tracked from origin to deployment, ensuring transparency, donor intent, and ethical control.

While formal trust structures are forthcoming, our internal processes already align with the legal standards required for compartmentalised fund governance.

Compliance in Every Jurisdiction

All philanthropic activity is compliant with:

AML/CTF obligations (AU, US, UK);

Transfer Pricing and donor tax deductibility laws;

Anti-corruption and foreign influence controls;

Mandatory KYC, sanctions screening, and counterparty due diligence.

GUC funds the following health resilience programs under strict milestones and oversight:

  • Deployment of Mobile Emergency Clinics
  • Seismic restoration and upgrade of regional hospital infrastructure
  • Disease control: TB, diabetes, typhoid, immunisation
  • Psychosocial trauma counselling post-disaster
  • Training of local health workers and supply chain restoration
  • Nutrition and Feeding Programs to under-resourced communities
  • Sanctuary development and veterinary outreach for vulnerable animal populations, aligned with regional environmental recovery efforts.
  • All programs are evaluated using SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound), governed by biannual reporting under the GUC–OWP MoU, with GUC retaining field verification and audit rights.

To avoid greenwashing, all external communications on philanthropic activity:

  • Are reviewed and approved by Legal and Governance;
  • Emphasise collective effort, not unilateral credit;
  • Avoid ROI-oriented language—this is not an investment play.

Our public representation follows our private values.

Philanthropy is not ornamental to GUC—it is engineered.

Structured.

Auditable.

We do not act from sentiment.

We act from strategy, law, and principle.

Lex prospicit, non respicit — The law looks forward, not backward.
